Preamble

The safety and health of our employees are of paramount importance. Effective occupational health and safety measures help prevent accidents, reduce health risks, and maintain consistent operational performance. Every accident causes human suffering for those affected and their families, while employee absences disrupt workflows, impact quality and customer satisfaction, and may jeopardise the company’s success. Our goal is to achieve a zero-accident workplace.

Outstanding quality, excellent service, committed and safety-conscious employees, and safe working conditions and machinery form the basis for a sustainable and successful future.

Art. 1 Responsibility, Promotion, Prevention

Zeulenroda Presstechnik has established measures across all operational processes to prevent accidents and health impairments and to ensure safe procedures, machinery, and equipment.

Management holds overall responsibility for compliance with legal health and safety requirements. In addition, every operational manager is responsible for occupational health and safety within their scope of responsibility.

Managers assess health and safety performance, plan measures to improve the working environment, and monitor the implementation and progress of these measures.

All employees actively contribute to maintaining good working conditions. The safety, health, and well-being of employees always take precedence in all decision-making processes. Occupational safety, health protection, and employee well-being are integrated into the design of our facilities, products, services, and processes.

Employees are encouraged to identify actual or potential hazards, take action, and submit suggestions and recommendations for improvement to management.

Managers evaluate and follow up on employee suggestions until associated risks have been reduced or eliminated.

Employees ensure that visitors or contractors for whom they are responsible are informed about applicable safety regulations.

We continuously work on preventive measures to improve occupational health and safety.

Art. 2 Instructions and Training

Through regular instructions and training, we ensure that employees can identify safety and health risks and act in accordance with prescribed protective measures.

Our goal is to strengthen and enhance employees’ occupational safety and health knowledge, skills, and awareness.

Art. 3 Health Precaution

We ensure precautionary occupational medical examinations to monitor employees’ health in relation to work-related hazards. These examinations enable us to identify necessary preventive measures, detect work-related illnesses early, and prevent occupational diseases.

Art. 4 Workplace Ergonomics

Workplaces are designed according to ergonomic and occupational medical standards to protect employees’ health and prevent occupational diseases.

Art. 5 Personal Protective Equipment

Employee safety is our highest priority. All employees receive personal protective equipment appropriate to their role free of charge.

Art. 6 Machine Safety

We ensure that all machinery, systems, and equipment are regularly maintained and inspected to guarantee maximum operational safety and minimise potential hazards to employees.

Art. 7 Handling of Chemical Substances

When handling hazardous substances, proper handling procedures must always be followed. Relevant safety data sheets and operating instructions are available and form part of regular employee training.

All chemicals used are registered in accordance with the EU REACH regulation and labelled under GHS or CLP standards.

Hazardous substances are stored in compliance with national regulations and technical rules (GefStoffV, AwSV, TRGS).

Art. 8 Emergency Preparedness, Incident and Accident Management

Emergency preparedness for workplace accidents is ensured through the training and appointment of first responders and by providing first-aid materials in all operational areas.

Escape and rescue routes are maintained to ensure safe use at all times and are clearly marked.

Regular evacuation and fire drills are conducted for fire preparedness and hazardous substance emergencies. Procedures are defined in dedicated emergency plans.

Art. 9 Fire Protection

Adequate fire protection is ensured in accordance with internal fire safety regulations. A specially trained Fire Safety Officer is responsible for fire protection tasks and is commissioned with preventive fire safety duties. They support and advise management on preventive, defensive, and organisational fire protection, as well as on matters relating to emergencies and disaster preparedness.

Employees are trained and qualified as fire safety assistants. Employees who are trained in their local volunteer fire department are integrated into fire safety support roles and help strengthen emergency awareness.

All buildings are equipped with appropriate fire protection equipment (CO₂ extinguishing systems, mobile extinguishers, SHEV systems, and building alarms).

Regular fire safety inspections are carried out by the Fire Safety Officer, often together with the local volunteer fire department and relevant authorities.
