Preamble
ZPT takes its social and societal responsibility very seriously. Respect for human rights and fair working conditions is a fundamental part of our corporate culture.
ZPT is committed to respecting human rights in our own business operations and throughout our global supply and value chains. Our actions align with the following international standards:
- Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations (UN)
- Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact
- Core Labour Standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO)
- UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
This guideline outlines how ZPT promotes human rights and good working conditions, and how we implement the ILO core labour standards.
The guideline applies to employees, suppliers, and authorised sales partners and supports the long-term success of our company.
Art. 1 Prohibition of Child Labour and Protection of Young Workers
ZPT does not tolerate child labour. The statutory age restrictions under the German Youth Employment Protection Act apply. Children under the age of 15 and full-time school-age adolescents may not be employed. Exceptions apply only to school internships or similar educational internships that support a child’s development.
When employing adolescents and young workers, we strictly observe legal regulations regarding working hours, breaks, and hazardous activities. All tasks considered dangerous or potentially harmful to the physical or mental development of young employees are prohibited.
ZPT supports the dual vocational training system and offers apprenticeships in accordance with the Vocational Training Act.
Art. 2 Forced or Compulsory Labour
ZPT does not tolerate any form of forced or compulsory labour.
All employees work voluntarily and without coercion, threats, or penalties.
Job responsibilities are defined in job profiles and published transparently. Psychological factors linked to overqualification or underqualification are considered, and responsibilities are aligned with the required qualifications.
During interviews, tasks are clearly communicated by the responsible department head. Applicants assess their suitability and agree to the tasks.
Throughout employment, employees may rely on the task descriptions defined in their employment contracts. The HR department decides whether additional or disputed tasks align with the contractual role.
Art. 3 Wages and Social Benefits
ZPT offers competitive and performance-based compensation, supplemented where appropriate by additional benefits.
Our internal remuneration system ensures fair and transparent employee classification based on education and professional experience.
We fully comply with statutory maternity protection regulations and support employees taking parental leave.
Where requested, ZPT supports occupational pension plans by contributing an agreed share.
Wages, salaries, social benefits, and any additional entitlements are paid directly after each payroll period in accordance with legal requirements.
Overtime is compensated through time off or monetary payment as regulated.
A detailed payslip is provided each pay period to enable verification of compensation.
All legal requirements for fixed-term and external employment are observed.
Art. 4 Working Hours
ZPT complies with all applicable legal requirements on working hours.
Work and break schedules balance operational needs with individual employee requirements.
Flexible working models are used across departments to support a healthy work-life balance.
Art. 5 Right to Health and Safety at the Workplace
The safety, health, and well-being of our employees are of utmost importance.
In accordance with occupational safety guidelines, legal regulations, and industry standards, ZPT provides a safe and health-promoting working environment to prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses.
Art. 6 Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
ZPT respects freedom of association and the right to form representative bodies. Employees may exercise their rights to representation in accordance with national laws.
Art. 7 Protection from Discrimination and Harassment
ZPT ensures equal opportunities for all employees and does not tolerate discrimination based on ancestry, origin, skin colour, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ideology, political or trade union activity, age, disability, illness, pregnancy, or any other characteristic.
ZPT promotes gender equality and women’s self-determination. Any discriminatory treatment that impairs women’s ability to exercise their human rights and freedoms is not tolerated.
ZPT strictly prohibits harassment—including sexual harassment—as well as intimidation or bullying. Unwanted physical behaviour or verbal conduct that violates personal dignity will result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
Art. 8 Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion
ZPT is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive corporate culture. We promote inclusive workplaces, diverse teams, and awareness among managers regarding their responsibility for diversity.
Art. 9 Ethical Recruitment
ZPT ensures that all recruitment processes are ethical, sustainable, transparent, respectful, and based on equal opportunity.
Art. 10 Rights of Minorities
ZPT ensures that minorities can maintain and exercise their cultural characteristics, including language, culture, and religion.
Art. 11 Land, Forest, and Water Rights and Forced Evictions
ZPT does not participate in unlawful forced evictions or any unlawful acquisition, deprivation, or misuse of land, forests, or water resources.
Art. 12 Use of Private and Public Security Forces
ZPT does not use private or public security forces if insufficient training or supervision could lead to human rights violations.
Art. 13 Responsibility
Management and department heads are responsible for implementing this guideline.
Art. 14 Review and Reporting
