Promoting the competitiveness of our customers is a core objective of Zeulenroda Presstechnik GmbH (ZPT). To achieve this, we are developing the company into a globally active supplier and service provider of machines, tools, and processes for industrial production using metal forming technologies.
Environmental protection means taking responsibility for the environmental impact of all our activities. ZPT is committed to pursuing economic objectives in harmony with environmental protection.
Safeguarding the environment and the climate is one of our essential corporate goals and an integral part of our corporate policy.
Art. 1 Compliance with Laws
Compliance with legal regulations and official requirements on environmental protection is a matter of course for ZPT. We ensure this through continuous information management, regular updates, and the optimization of work instructions and their documentation.
We consider ourselves responsible for actively and continuously advancing environmental protection in line with the principles of sustainable development. This includes reducing energy and water consumption, emissions, noise, and waste, as well as using eco-efficient technologies throughout the company.
All environmentally relevant business processes are integrated into our management system.
Art. 2 Involvement of Our Business Partners
ZPT expects all business partners to comply with applicable laws and official regulations. We communicate our environmental objectives to our partners and encourage them to support and implement these goals.
All employees involved in environmental management, procurement, and production ensure – based on our environmental guidelines – that environmental performance is jointly improved through close cooperation with our service providers and partners.
Art. 3 Involvement of Our Employees
ZPT provides comprehensive and ongoing information to employees on environmentally responsible behaviour. We continuously develop ideas and initiatives to actively involve employees in environmental improvement processes and provide the necessary resources and information.
A special responsibility lies with management and leadership teams. As role models, they contribute to strengthening environmental awareness among employees and embedding environmental protection into the corporate culture.
Every employee is responsible for handling natural resources with care.
Art. 4 Involvement of Our Products and Processes
ZPT strives to use resources responsibly while ensuring the highest product quality for customers. Our goal is to offer products that fulfil customer expectations regarding environmental compatibility, cost efficiency, safety, quality, and comfort.
We prioritise high-quality solutions with the lowest possible environmental impact rather than solutions that focus solely on maximum technical feasibility. Our task is to find a balance between diverse requirements. Products required for ongoing operations are regularly assessed and procured based on social and environmental criteria.
Sustainable Use of Resources
We are committed to minimising environmental impact by using natural resources sparingly, responsibly, and sustainably. This includes improving energy efficiency, reducing water consumption, avoiding waste, lowering greenhouse gas emissions and noise emissions, enhancing air quality, and promoting biodiversity.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies
Increasing energy efficiency is key to reducing the ecological footprint of our production processes. We regularly measure and evaluate significant energy consumption to identify and utilise savings potential in production and infrastructure.
Energy efficiency is also a key criterion when purchasing or upgrading systems and buildings. We support the transition to renewable electricity by generating our own energy through the expansion of renewable technologies.
Decarbonisation, Greenhouse Gas Reduction, and Emissions
Decarbonising our business operations is a strategic priority for ZPT. Our goal is to achieve net-zero emissions from our business activities by 2050 at the latest. Measures in the ZPT environmental programme focus on process optimisation, energy efficiency improvements, the use of renewable electricity, and the modernisation of systems, buildings, and processes. We record and report greenhouse gas consumption and reductions as part of our environmental management system.
Water Management, Water Consumption, and Water Quality
Water is an increasingly scarce resource. ZPT manages water responsibly in terms of withdrawal, consumption, discharge, and process-water impacts. We aim to contribute to sustainable water management, further reduce water consumption, and maintain water quality. Regulatory environmental measures minimise the risk of contamination of rainwater on our premises. Responsible chemicals management ensures that no harmful substances enter water bodies or groundwater.
Waste Avoidance, Reuse, and Recycling
ZPT’s waste management is based on the German Circular Economy Act (Kreislaufwirtschaftsgesetz). Our objective is to reduce waste generated in production and return an increasing share of materials back into the circular economy. Waste avoidance is our primary goal. We ensure that procurement decisions minimise waste generation. For unavoidable waste, reuse takes precedence over disposal. Where possible, we use recycled products. Unavoidable waste is disposed of professionally by licensed and regularly certified waste management companies. Digital waste recording enables us to monitor waste volumes, track progress toward our targets, and meet legal documentation requirements.
Biodiversity, Species Protection, Animal Welfare, Land Use, and Deforestation
Biodiversity is essential for a balanced and functioning environment and is defined by the diversity of ecosystems, genetic diversity, and species richness.
ZPT is committed to protecting and preserving biodiversity and ecosystems. This includes responsible management of near-natural company areas, sustainable land use, prevention of deforestation, preservation of soil quality, and the protection of species and animals.
Art. 5 Continuous Improvement
ZPT maintains an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and is committed to its continuous improvement.
We record and assess the environmental impacts of our business activities, define objectives, and implement measures to drive improvement.
ZPT is committed to continuously reducing environmental burdens and advancing environmental performance across all areas of the company.
